Gift Cards for Prevention
Here's an easy way to support HAC’s homelessness prevention program -- just by shopping at your favorite stores. HAC has gift cards available for purchase from dozens of stores, restaurants and movie theaters. Cards are available for Dunkin’ Donuts, Crate and Barrel, and iTunes, just to name a few, and range in value from $9.50 for a single admission movie ticket to $500 at Home Depot.
Because of dramatic state funding cutbacks, the sale of grocery and other gift cards is the only source of funding for HAC’s Project Prevention for families. When you purchase gift cards through this program, a percentage of the sale (usually 4 to 8 percent, but in some cases as much as 18 percent) goes toward homelessness prevention. All of the money raised by HAC through this program is given directly to families in need.
These cards are great gift ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, surprise gifts and holidays. And while it doesn't cost you anything, it ensures those at risk of homelessness never have to suffer the indignity of living in a motel, on the streets or in their cars.
To purchase gift cards, click here and print an order form. Make checks payable to HAC. Mail (or bring) completed forms and payment to Housing Assistance Corp, Attn: Project Prevention, 460 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
