CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)

Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) is seeking an experienced senior manager for the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).  

The COO works closely with HAC's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the successful delivery of all services to HAC's client constituency. The position is responsible for ensuring that all operations are efficient, effective and compliant with relevant law, regulations and standards. The COO is responsible for maintaining exemplar relations with all funding sources, peer and complementary service providers, business, community leaders and donors. The COO oversees the Senior Management team, leading and inspiring them to advance the organization's Mission through outstanding performance in all areas.

The COO is directly, and through management of HAC staff, responsible for the following:grants, contracts and funding management; budget processes and financial reporting; human resources and benefits; facilities and Information Technology management; program development and service delivery; community and other external relations and communication; responsible to the CEO and through the CEO to the Board. 

The successful candidate will be a mission-driven and experienced manager with whom HAC’s vision resonates.  The following credentials are desirable: 

  • Master's in Public Administration, Human Services or Community Development preferred
  • Five plus years of senior management experience in a non-profit program-intensive organization, with a focus on operations management
  • Understanding of housing as a basic right and need
  • General knowledge of housing services delivery
  • Experience in managing organizations in transition
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse and comprehensive work teams
  • Proficiency in PC based software programs
  • Familiarity with program regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop programs and new proposals
  • Demonstrated involvement in community activities

GENERAL CONTRACTORS

HAC is looking for general contractors to conduct home repairs to income-eligible properties in the town of Yarmouth. The type of work will include: building envelope and site work, roofing, siding, window replacement, electrical, plumbing and installation of smoke alarms, sprinklers and other fire suppression systems. Contractors must have a valid Contractor Supervisor license and/or a Home Improvement Contractor license. Contractors are required to submit estimates and complete work in accordance with an approved scope of work. All work must be in compliance with building codes.

SUPPORT STAFF

Positions are available in a residential family shelter program serving families without permanent housing and families in recovery. Ideal candidates will have experience, knowledge and understanding of families with multiple problems and be sensitive to the needs of homeless families. Prior work experience and knowledge of community resources is desirable. The program has day, evening and weekend shifts available. Valid driver’s license required.

CASE MANAGER/RECOVERY SPECIALIST 

The Angel House Family Recovery Program is seeking candidates for the position of Case Manager/Recovery Specialist. Primary responsibilities include providing service planning and ongoing case management for mothers and their children. Candidates must have experience, knowledge and understanding of families facing multiple issues, including addiction and homelessness. This position consists of up to 25 hours per week. Valid driver’s license required.

FAMILY THERAPIST 

HAC is looking to fill a full-time position to enhance the recovery of families without permanent housing. The family therapist should have a master's degree in the appropriate discipline with two years of substance abuse counseling experience. Applicants must be interested in creating and maintaining a trauma-informed treatment set of protocols for a residential facility that has functioned as a role model for 20 years. Candidates must show they have working experience being creative, compassionate, computer literate, and good with children of all ages. The therapist will provide clinical family services through individual, group and family therapy under the supervision of the clinical director.
